Narconon President Addresses Anti-Drug Conference

Mr. Bo Persson, President of Narconon Europe, will be one of the guest speakers at the Foundation for a Drug-Free Europe anti-drug conference being hosted by the Church of Scientology International European Office for Public Affairs and Human Rights on October 12, 2005.

The Foundation was established in May 2004 to unite and coordinate the efforts of members of civil society involved in the fight against drugs in Europe.

Mr. Persson has first hand knowledge of this issue and the effectiveness of Narconon, as he credits Narconon with saving his life when he did the program himself as an addict over 30 years ago.

As President of Narconon Europe, an association of European Narconon drug rehabilitation and drug prevention programs based on the discoveries of humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard, Mr. Persson is very familiar with the effects of drugs on the lives of addicts their families and communities, and the necessity of providing workable solutions to these problems.

With 26 drug rehabilitation centers throughout Europe and drug prevention programs in Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Macedonia, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the Ukraine, Narconon is in the forefront of creating a Europe free from the ravages of drugs.

The Narconon Europe association was formed in September 1988 when representatives from European Narconon associations met and decided that working in a coordinated fashion would be the best method of addressing the serious drug problems their countries have in common.

Narconon drug rehabilitation is an entirely drug-free approach to addiction, not only providing withdrawal services, but also helping those who participate gain an understanding of why they used drugs to begin with and providing them with tools that enable them to live drug-free, ethical lives after they leave the program.
